Ideology

The relationship between a city’s civil society and the urban environment they inhabit is shaped by their shared collective memory—formed through the events and experiences lived together in the city’s public realm.
Without memory, there is no genuine connection to place.

Wadi Nisnas is a historic neighborhood in the city of Haifa. Our ideology centers on reconnecting the Wadi to Haifa and the sea through social links, and making art accessible to the entire community. The project preserves the neighborhood’s historic fabric while introducing an urban network that connects its streets to rooftops, existing and new cultural centers such as museums and the school, and continues seamlessly into the market.

The design ties together the community of artists with the residents of the Wadi to enrich communal life through art. Wadi Street acts as the neighborhood’s main artery, linking key nodes, gardens, and alleys—revitalizing the area and bringing it back to life.
